Seven Keys To Build Your Self Esteem
By: Ranju Kumar

One of the real keys for improving self esteem is in taking action. Many people who suffer from low self esteem often get stuck in a rut which drives their self esteem even lower. To raise self esteem, you need to set goals for yourself and then take the necessary actions to meet these goals. Just taking continual action will move you closer towards goal attainment and stop you from feeling as if you are worthless and at the mercy of others.

There are thousands of people just like you who suffer from low self esteem and need to improve how they look at themselves and the world around them. You are not alone and you can create the life that you dream of. You just need to start taking steps in the right direction. The sooner you start the sooner you can start enjoying your life as it is meant to be enjoyed.

Here is a simple strategy to improve your self esteem in such a way that it improves your life as well.

* Build up your self-esteem. You must take an inventory. What do you want to improve or change about the way you interact with others? Try to make only one change at a time. Always check your progress before making another change.

* Secondly, you can start believing that you are a wonderful and special person. Don't worry about making mistakes, we are all entitled to do so. Making mistakes is only human, and we all learn by them. Learn to respect yourself and you will be respected by others.

* Set clear goals for yourself before every interaction. Know what you want. Think about how the people you will be meeting can help you reach those goals.

* Be proactive. Take the initiative. Be decisive. Let the other person know exactly how he or she can help you. Proactive people tend to be more successful in their career.

* Treat each person you meet as if she or he is truly important. (You'll be amazed how this works.)

* Pay close attention to how you talk. Negative self talk is a real self esteem killer. Make a habit of trading the words I cant to I will. Having positive expectations will go a long way towards increasing your self esteem.

* Do not be disappointed or frustrated if you do not attain fast results. It does not matter how many times you fail or forget to behave as you desired. Persist in your efforts and never give up, and you will begin to see how you and your life improve.

We need self-esteem because it has an impact on various aspects of our lives. Our emotions, desires, values, choices and goals are rooted on our self-esteem. You may even want to hire a personal coach. These tools will help you improve your self esteem dramatically if you put the advice and recommendations that you receive into action.

Mr Khalid Nasr is to be paid tribute for selecting Mr Ranju Kumar's article for acquiring self-estem; which is a prerequisite for inculcating qualities for Leadership. Evidently a leader has to impress his followers for treding his path; which is impossible until the leader is sure of himself on the basis of the internationally accepted criteria of leadership.

This article is not the last word by any standard, but the writer has set the ball rolling for others to add by sheer concentration or through first hand personal experience.
